or anyone has other suggestions?
i'm using a 450d.

regards ;p

Good enough, just use manual focus :)

I was using the 70-200 f/4 in the last F1 Singapore. Had a few good shots, but sometimes wished for faster lens.

You have to go on manual focus and pan the shot. Takes some practise, and don't be discouraged. Keep trying. I must have taken close to 400+ shots that night. But only a handful of about 20-30 shots are "passable".

Good luck and have fun.

thanx guys.
def needs lots of practices i'm sure ;p

Used my brother's Rebel 300D, EF 55-200mm f/4.5-5.6 II USM in last year's singapore F1. AF track and pan. Some pics did turn out not bad. Of course, since first time panning such events and one of the faster straights, plenty of misses also...

Something like this:

definitely gd enough for F1 lor, cos I noe of a frenz uses 55-250 IS to shoot F1 and the pics came out quite gd

I was lucky enough to be in the press-box during the last Singapore F1, and a 70-200 is just not long enough. Most of my keepers came from a 300mm F2.8 (on a 1D).

Should be good enough. You'd have a fair amount of wasted shots, but you should have some keepers.
