For the past five years, Eye é City has served as the nations photographic diary recording through the eyes of her people, the myriad changes in the physical, social and cultural fronts.
Participants from all walks of life, who registered on 30 Dec, brought their cameras with them on a personal discovery of what was memorable, took photographs within the last 24 hours of the year and jotted down their thoughts, and submitted their works.
Few weeks later, they returned to select their best three entries, with the help of our facilitators. This one-to-one session provided each participant with a chance to share their personal experience and stories behind the photographs.
Participants would then refine their thoughts on those three selected entries and pen them down on paper. The description serves to bring a deeper meaning to each photograph.
A panel of professional photographers and social observers would meet later to select the best 100 entries (singles and photo-essays) for that year. The images would be subsequently published in a book and exhibited to the public later in the year.
