Extension Tube with Telezoom

What is the effect of using a extension tube with a telezoom? (e.g. 18-200 VR). Will this give the same effect as a teleconvertor? I am keen to get one for my D80 before I get the macro lens.

Nope.. an extension tube is NOT a TC. pls dun make this mistake.

What the extension tube do is to give you a closer focusing distance (this may cause you to not get infinite focusing distance)

Extension tube = Poor man's macro lens...I love the tubes...
