recently bought a Canon ex430II.
trying out rear sync with the control on the ex430ii.
when set at rear sync at slow shutter, my flash fires 2 times; 1st when the shutter opens, 2nd when the shutter close.
is it possible for the flash to fire once, only when the curtain close?

thks.

It is indeed the pre-flash. Has to be so, if you set it to second curtain sync.
Therefore I will always tell my subjects to expect two flashes and not to start running away after the first flash comes and goes.

yup its possible, just do a FEL with the * button on your cam, it'll fire the pre-flash and get the metering beforehand..
