The Great Hunt @ Central Singapore
Dec 26 10am to 3pm
Plaza Singapura
In conjunction with Senior Citizens' Week and in line with 2004 being the International Year of the Family, Central Singapore CDC is rallying together 2 of its corporate partners - CapitaLand and Wall's to specially cater a fun-filled day of activities for the families and senior citizens this school holidays. 200 to 250 teams (made up of 4 - 5 members) will flag off and end at Plaza Singapura, teams will be allowed to plan their travel via bus or MRT. Teams will draw for sequence of checkpoints to avoid overcrowding. Teams are required to complete the number of checkpoints and also complete the task within each check point. At the stipulated end time, points collected for each location and task will be tabulated and the eventual winners will be announced. Prizes include an attractive get-away for the winning family, individual checkpoint winning families and best-dressed teams.

Nature Hikes
Date : 9 January 2005 (Sunday) 8.30 am to 12.30 pm
Description : An invitation to all to join us in nature hikes ....
From MacRitchie Reservoir to Bt Timah Nature Reserve

Meet @ Cross-country starting point, near the toilets and big carpark.
What to bring ? Just lots of water, sunblock and insect repellent for extra protection. The walk would end with a fulfilling makan at Bt Timah.

A few staff from CDC and Constituency Office went on 2 hikes recently, we took different routes and each promised new discovery ! Never mind if you have been to MacRitchie many times, the air and company will be different! Those who have not step foot on MacRitchie for years, its not as difficult as you thought.

For future hikes (yeah we won't just stop at MacRitchie), we can also do some nature photography, bird/butterfly watching, etc .... Anyone got knowledge/contacts/resources etc to share? From here, we hope to have you taking the lead in engaging our residents in more hikings/trekkings.

To indicate your interest in the 9 January hike and/or future outdoor activities, you are most welcome to bring along friends to join in the fun.

Its actually open to volunteers of CS CDC, but friends are welcome as well.

Cheers.
