Event in a low light enviroment

I need the f9 for depth of field for group photo. Can i boost up the iso to get a faster shutter speed with a flash?? Will it have noise reduction?? Can anyone advised me.

Use: D90, Sb600 n 18-105mm.

you dun have your camera and flash with you? why dun you just do a test? is that very hard?

how big is the group?
how far away you are shooting from your subject?
how dim is the venue?
are you shooting with direct flash or bounce?
how high is the ISO you intend to use?
how low is the shutter speed you intend to use?


how to give suggestions when the information is inadequate?
