Hi everyone, does anyone hold photography equipment insurance for non commercial photography? :)

I know there have been threads about this before but suggestions for travel insurance means u usually are only covered for a minimum sum for items but what if u are carrying a dslr and lens worth thousands. I can't seem to locate Terence's posts some time back that were suppose to deal with this issue and was hoping someone know any company that provides insurance for equipment worth more then the usual $500..:)

The last time I asked my insurance agent, I was told it will be on a case to case basis and the premium can be quite hefty. I did not further pursue on the matter. As you probably know already, travel insurance will pay up to $500 max per item regardless of the value. Moreover, there will be a depreciation charge over the years since purchase date.

I would said the amount you might be paid back.... would highly unlikely even cover the cost of your Gears. And not forgetting the premium you have to pay.... :(

I'm actually in process of applying a Camera Specialised all risk insurance for one of the brother from CS forum.

it's a comprehensive coverage at reasonable premiums. =)

if you like to find out more can PM me for details.
