I have an Epson 7880. All along was working fine. Recently after I changed the paper cutter, an error message is displayed "Service call error 00010004. Contact the Epson guys but they don't know how to fix it. Any clue much appreciated.

Did you replace cutter exactly like in this video?

What error code 00010004 mean. ( click on the code number)

Something about CR ( carriage return code or motor, may be it has not return to home position so sensor cannot detect it has return to origin zero position like cnc machine ).

Here's how to move printhead assembly out to clean and return to home position.

Very grateful to have received a reply. Much appreciated! I changed the cutter following the manual step by step, and there was a message that cutting has been successfully replaced. To be precise, the printer still printed well after changing, but the cutter did not cut well and I have to cut it manually. After this, problems surfaced. At first it kept rebooting, and now permanently displaying the error message.

The second video seems complex and have not attempted that yet.

Many thanks again!
