Unlikely. The lack of 60fps in APS-C mode is already stated clearly in the user manual. Looks like a deliberate attempt to prevent videographers from using cheaper EF-S glass.Some bad news for those wish to shoot 60P video with EF-S lenses

Hope Canon will fix this on the firmware updates.
I think one needs to read carefully what people expected from the camera. A lot of the negative noise comes from unfulfilled expectations, especially with regards to the video capabilities. Secondly, many forget that no maker will cannibalize their existing portfolio by bringing out the 'wonder cam' at a lower price than previous flagship models. As far as I hear, there is still one EOS R model in the pipe and the next 1DX model is already in field testing. Maybe after that we will see how the Canon portfolio shifts.
