Which will be given upon purchase at the shop.

But there are only limited copies. So not sure becos it has been fully redeemed thats why no longer around? Not sure.

I havent used the previous one, but i agree with most of your points. the AF is really fast and reliable, i must say it may be probably better than sony a7. m5 tracking is definitely better than sony a7, a7s.

I really like the touch AF, i feel its much easier than using a joystick, especially when the camera its small, it makes sense to have the touch screen rather than pressing many buttons just to get to the af selection. it does make it more enjoyable to take photos.

anyways this is just my personal opinion, hope it helps

Faster than Sony A7 which is definitely since the latter is already an old model, old technology.

Anyone has tested the AF speed vs the Sony A7 II?

messaged canon to enquire on the adapter and was directed to their e-shop webpage on the camera that comes with sd card and bakerzin voucher. canon's indirect manner of addressing the enquiry.

thanks for sharing, beanie. it's canon who's not transparent with the promo. canon had been sluggish entering the mirrorless market. the adapter is a strong selling point for m5 to pair effectively with canon's excellent range of ef and ef-s lenses. too bad that canon singapore not leveraging on this business opportunity.

hope Canon build good glasses for the M series like what Fuji build for the X series. :D

With adapter you can use L lenses

to a certain extent I agree with you, but in my opinion, I would prefer L lenses made for EF-M mount :D

I fully agree with making good dedicated lens for the smaller form factor rather than adding another bulk to a design that is heading towards more portability.
Lack of good EF-M is indeed what stops me from getting myself a M5.

So I'll never buy EOS M series then :)

You might want to have a look here to understand the reason why EOS-M series won't have high end lenses :)

Rumor is disputed at other sources, though:

Nevertheless, if Canon wants to market mirrorless FF then it makes little sense to have high end lenses for the EOS-M series.

Has anyone tried EF-M lens adapter + EF/EF-S lens with M5 and encountered lens's IS remains on throughout till you toggle the IS switch to off?

Are you using Continuous AF? That would explain it, since lens IS is engaged when the camera focuses and prepares for taking the shot. Try without Continous AF.

Had it turned off but still the same outcome.
