EOS 33 Metering Modes

OK, the EOS 33 has three logos for its metering modes.

1. Empty frame - Evaluative

2. Dot in the middle with brackets at the top and bottom it - Center weighted

3. Brackets without the dot in the middle - Partial Metering

Am I correct? Because my friend owns the 33, and the manual says 1. is center weighted, while 2. is Evaluative. I have a feeling its a typo. Thank you.

Please note that I'm a Nikon user, and the exact same symbol as stated in 2. is CW in both my D70 and F801.

Thanks for your clarification. Anyway, why does Canon have to be so confusing? I mean, (o) just makes more sense as CW metering than an empty frame...
