For Nikkor lens with the aperture ring setting, I notice it has a standard
aperture step of f/2, f/2.8, f/4,....f/11, f/16,..etc when turning the aperture ring.
So how do the aperture ring correspond to the camera body setting of +1/3
or +2/3 since the step on the lens is 1 f-stop per click?

Regards.

The mechanical ring only allows for 1 stop shifts. However, the camera body is able to adjust 1/3 stop shifts via it's own mechanical coupling.

You cannot use both controls at the same time, to use the body to set aperture the lens aperture ring must be fully stopped down.

eh for manual cams users such as FM,
me just turn lor, as in if i wan in between 2.8 and 4 i just turn so that it is halfway.
cos the aperture change is actually continous, not by stages so ya..
