Just thought of an interesting idea of how to improve #1. Perhaps you could shine a torch light such that it creates a vertical beam which lands on the flower? It's great the way it is though :thumbsup:

thanks for ur kind comments. this is a digital work though. the lotuses were taken using my 300d, and i adjusted their levels in ps. for the first picture, the glow on top was post processed.
