A MAN'S bid to slyly take a photo under a woman's skirt was foiled when the flash went off.
Service engineer Teo Lie Hsien, 27, was caught in the act by a passer-by. And yesterday, he was jailed for three months after pleading guilty to a charge of insulting the woman's modesty.
A magistrate's court heard that on June 21, at about 7.30pm, Teo, who was standing behind a 27-year-old woman engineer on an upward-moving escalator at the HDB Hub in Toa Payoh, held a digital camera under her skirt and snapped a shot. But the flash went off, catching the attention of Mr Erh Kheok Meng, 47, who was standing behind Teo.
Teo tried to run away but was detained by Mr Erh and another passer-by, Mr Chua Teo Huat, 35. The woman called the police as the two men held him down.
