today, ST carry a report of a engineer using a digital camera to do up-skirt snaps. But the flash went off, resulting in his arrest.
Does choice of camera with on/off activation of flash helps in his case? don't try it, it is a criminal offence.

serves him right to get arrested.

*echo* don't try it. it's wrong to do so.

its this kind of ppl that give a bad name to photographers. serve him right.

so low down... he should be caned, and jailed and fined handsomely...

extracted from the website

A MAN'S bid to slyly take a photo under a woman's skirt was foiled when the flash went off.

Service engineer Teo Lie Hsien, 27, was caught in the act by a passer-by. And yesterday, he was jailed for three months after pleading guilty to a charge of insulting the woman's modesty.

A magistrate's court heard that on June 21, at about 7.30pm, Teo, who was standing behind a 27-year-old woman engineer on an upward-moving escalator at the HDB Hub in Toa Payoh, held a digital camera under her skirt and snapped a shot. But the flash went off, catching the attention of Mr Erh Kheok Meng, 47, who was standing behind Teo.

Teo tried to run away but was detained by Mr Erh and another passer-by, Mr Chua Teo Huat, 35. The woman called the police as the two men held him down.

Serve the Chee-Ko-Peh right! Damn stupid, dun even know how to 'off' the flash first.

Pervertic man, served him right. Hope he gets imprisonment sentence, in this way those prisoners can teach him a lesson.

With the proliferation of digital cameras nowadays, maybe it's high time to differentiate between "camera operators" and photographers. ;)

Not everyone who holds a camera is a photographer. :p

he should have use a high iso setting and wide aperture to take the photo without flesh. Then use neatimage or noise ninja to smooth the skin texture.

Well, its its such form of photos, he runs a lower risk compared to hardcore molesters, paedos and rapists of being manhandled by other inmates in prison. ;)

The big problem: Not everyone bothers to do such distinctions.

To them, anyone holding an SLR is either a PI or a Professional Photographer. Whilst anyone holding a normal camera is a photographer.
