Electric socket question

My room got only 1 electricial socket which is near the door.

But I would like to extend it. Can I just 'tap' from the socket and wired it along the wall to the place where I desired?

Will there be any problem? Like short circuit? The new socket should hv at least 4-6 3pins plugs.

How much do I need to pay if I ask electrician to do it for me? Anibody working as one?

I also want to extend my telephone socket? Can I just 'tap' using similar size wires? I looks quite simple though :think:

Wat is the charge for installing a SCV socket in my room?

1) I'm doing that now, Wall socket -> extension -> 7 port extension, think about $150 for a proper extension

2) I extended before with 5M long when my PC was nowhere near a phone socket works.

3) $150 also IIRC.

1) my uncle can do it but he's too busy, anyway no rush, I already 'extend' liao so usable.

Well had to tidy up the cords and junk the older extension cables, they're getting frayed.

Assuming a 20A MCB is supplying your room. You should be able to install as per CP5, 6 electrical sockets (doubles) in that location alone, in parallel.

It depends on what you ask them to do in the first place..
If you want to tap from the ELCB, tell them you want a dedicated line (may not be possible if you don't have spare slots on your box).
Otherwise, just tap off what's available..
