 Hi Guys & Gals of CSnap,

I'm planning to get another lens soon but a bit confused whether which lens mentioned above is more worth it. I know that 85mm is good for portrait but 100mm f/2.8 is also applicable on portrait other than macro.

I will be flying back to philippines this coming sept to attend a wedding of my sis in-law and want to try to catch some great moments

So should i invest in 100mm or 85mm? ( dont want to end up having a redundunt lens )

100/2.8L macro IS is much more expensive than 85/1.8
If your portraits are mostly half-body shots then 2.8 usually gives a shallow enough DoF.

@Grantyale, will take note of that

Was in the similar dilemma too until I figured that I'll probably shoot more portraits than macro. No regrets getting the 85mm. It's a good lens.

85mm

85mm is great for portraits. u can use 85mm for fake macro also ;)

go for 100mm f2.8

Thanks for all the advice.. I decided to get the EF100mm f/2.8L IS USM macro from my
good friend in Dubai who work in Canon, Price wise got a big difference not to mention got atleast 20-30% discount on top of the much cheaper price ..
