EF-S 55-250mm + 500D Close-up Lens

Hi, I got myself a Canon 500D Kit 1 not too long ago and I'm now considering getting some new lens for more versatility. I am on a tight budget though.

I want to get the EF-S 55-250mm lens for wider zoom range. I just like to ask if the 500D Close-up Lens is a good alternative to go with this lens for macro photography. Any pros can give me some advice on the feasibility of this option?

Hi, you mean a close up adapeter / macro adapter on the 55-250 / other lenses?
From what I know, these close up will not perform as good as most dedicated / specific macro lenses. However, it is good for budget.

Search for Raynox in CS. IIRC, some CSer actually recommend it.

I know they do not offer as good quality as macro lenses, but I guess its somewhere to start with macro photography.
