The above lens has the Made in Taiwan printed on it. Is this a grey set? Any difference (IQ) between the Japan and the Taiwan copies?

Get a sticker, write "Made in Japan" on it, put it on the lens. Technically it has exactly the same effect as the print "Made in Taiwan", but it might make you happier. Lt's make you happy then

In terms of Quality nope, but my guess is you've probably got the Export/Grey area set, so might have warranty issues though.

The shop showed me the warranty card. It matches the serial number on the lens. And the service centre is Singapore based. Is it a grey set?

So if the warranty card is white color and has Singapore service centers listed, warranty is honored by canon Singapore?
