Hi bros!

I know there's alot of info about this legendary lens on the web, but i wan to know our own Pentaxian's experience and opinion of this lens (local opinion is good you know?).

Please be kind and educate me, what is your impression of this lens? =)

all i can contribute is this:

:bsmilie:

Ouch!!! That's painful... I can only contribute this

According to ratings K 50/1.4 seems higher rated. :)

Of course, these are descendents of the Super Takumar 50/1.4.

Anybody got a spare M 50/1.7 for sale? LBA got me... but my excuse is I know what I want and I'm going to get it. ;p

First and foremost, you'd need to get a proper adapter for the Tak, in order for it to work with the K-x.
There are genuine Pentax M42 adapters(your best bet), and there are many 3rd party m42 adapters that have varying qualities-> some can fit, some will not.

Locally, you can try getting the adapter from Fotographix at Chinatown Point. Tel 62237217 (Call Mr Wong to make sure he's in shop before u go down). His adapter quite good and give a good fit.

I've only used the cheaper 55mm 1.8 before, very smooth focusing and lanthane 'radioactive' glass which will have a yellowing hue, but does not appear in the photo. Most Taks are known to be optically very good, and smooth focusing despite their age.
For more reviews on the lens, perhaps u can try looking at Pentaxforums->SLR Lens discussion->Takumar club

wow! the hammer is scarrry!
