Editing Video files from FZ1000

Anyone know if there is any video editing software that is fully compatible with Panasonic FZ1000, (shot from 25, 50 and 100 fps)?

Adobe Premiere Pro should be able to handle mp4/avchd natively. I would personally shoot in mp4 container, as the files are easier to manage as they are self-contained.

What I find troublesome about AVCHD is that it has a more complex file structure:

Proper way to import footage

AVCHD footage comes in a complex file structure that contains much more information than is typically found in video clips.

You can work on footage while it's on the storage card. But if there is any difficulty, the first thing to do is to copy the footage onto a hard disk. Be sure to copy the entire file structure of the card instead of just the clips.

Always use the Media Browser in Adobe Premiere Pro, or use Prelude, to import the footage.

What are your system specs? Do note that editing compressed video formats like h.264 (in either avchd/mp4 containers) can be fairly resource-intensive, so even if the application can edit the files natively, the experience may not be smooth if your computer can't keep up.

Yeah, should be alright then. I edited on an i5 dual-core mbp for the past 3 years. 1-2 tracks was ideal, more than that tended to struggle a bit.

I have no problems with FCPX even though with complex timeline with 9 angles of multicam and many compound clips ...

I am on 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7 with 32GB of 1600 MHz DDR3 ram ...

Keep in mind if you're shooting in 4K it will require more juice even if you playback in reduced resolution during editing compared to 1080. Once you start adding color correction and various plug ins it will become even more demanding.

Hi, I have been using FZ200 for 2 years. Recently I bought the Cyberlink PowerDirector Ultra video editor in anticipation of buying the FZ1000. I LOVE the "stabiliser" feature of this editor as I shoot video mostly hand held at the long end of the zoom lens.
