That's very reassuring. At least there's still some cheap and good stuff out there these days. No free lunch unfortunately. :bsmilie: I'm guessing I'll need to make a special order if I want those Koss headphones.

Perhaps I'll hop by Best Denki sometime next week and see what AT ones I can snag.

:bsmilie: Yes, sometimes things in this world are strange...it's the good things that disappear earlier. They just don't make them anymore. But the sound is the thing that really matters in the end I guess.
... maybe gonna get one EQ33 from the bluetin... iirc the last time i bought one at popular was $28 and it came with and extra 1m extension which cost $9 :bsmilie: . same goes for the EQ88 i got... but this one was under promotion thus $38>$28

Heheh...Panasonic. I think we know them better for their cameras than their headphones!

i currently use IEMs...good and comfortable...check out Shure or Westone...westones are more bettery value for $ than shure counterparts..

Thanks for the suggestions. Those are other brands I've not heard of too, and never seen their products. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

Now those are way cool! Wish I knew where to find them...very unusual. Kinda reminds me of those PC speakers that I saw before. They are transparent, like glass (both the satellite speakers and the woofer).

I have used Sony ex71, Panasonic HJE50, Shure e3c, Shure e2c, Westone UM1.

I recommend Westone UM1 at $160 Brand New. They're a pair of very capable IEM (In-Ear Monitors).

If you have a budget, AT, Panasonic HJE50, Creative EP630 offer quite reasonable sound quality.

Grado is a very solid brand with awesome SQ. Yes, however some people dislike the fitting of the headphones. Very good bang for buck.

you can browse www.sgheadphones.net or head-fi.org for more info pertaining to audio equipment.

For starters, Shure e4c and Westone UM1 gets my vote for earphones.
Budget, look around, sennheiser has got one in-ear earphones too.

if you're interested, go to Adelphi, Jaben Network, #04-16 and look for uncle wilson..he'll give you various headphones to try out before your purchase...i spent 1hr there trying out the UM1, UM2 and shure before buying my UM1s (even though i told him i'd be getting the UM1 the first min i stepped into the shop)

Thanks for the recommendation of specific models. Grado was the brand I remember from some of those gadget magazines, and sometimes appears in the newspapers. Expensive yes...but they look like they were made very well.

Thanks. I was thinking about going straight to Best Denki and go for something by AT tonight, but if I don't find anything I like, then at least I now know where else I can go.

Best/HN/SAFE, etc have stocks for normal earphones only..if u're looking for higher quality types, check out Jaben Networks, or other shops that specialise in such stuff..

Stereo Electronics @ Causeway Point stocks some really high end earphones from Audio Technica, and many other brands. Those from Best Denki are the more basic models.
