DVD-RW/DVD+RW/DVD Ram ?????????

Hi all, since someone brought up the issue of DVDs as a storage media, I've been meaning to ask about the Difference (apart from price) among these:

DVD-RW
DVD+RW and
DVD RAM

...and also, which is better for storing photos and which for video, burning DVD etc...? Apparently there's a difference?

+ rw is your best bet
dvd ram is almost exclusive to panasonic. very few people use dvd ram although its read and write features are better then both +RW and -RW

If you want to use the DVD like a gigantic floppy disk, so that you can read, write and delete files at will, use the DVD-RAM.

You might want to take a look at the LG super drive series. Cheap and good.

With DVD-RW, you have to finalise the disc in order to play on a normal DVD Player.. With DVD+RW, it is not required.. I also heard some pple comment DVD+RW has a faster write speed, I've not used + before 'cos my DVD Camcorder only supports -, so can't comment on the write speed..

DVD-RW has been around the longest, so more DVD player support this standard. If you think you will be playing it in older DVD player, you may want to think about this one.
