Hello group,

Follows what I am looking for. Any recommendations?
1 - Software to create DVD slideshow of digital pictures
2 - Has to also serve as my photo archive medium i.e: no image quality lost
3 - DVD playback on TV must allow menu navigation, group by theme selection
4 - Should be either freeware, shareware or afordable at least ($100 or less)

Thanks all
JM

Unless I'm misunderstanding your requirements wrongly, I believe iDVD (part of iLife05, which is a Mac suite of apps) can do what you're looking for. I've done one such DVD before.

Cheers....Nizz

...btw apologies if you're not using a Mac, as I didn't see a system specification.

Only thing is with iDVD, you need a SuperDrive. :)

iLife costs $165 at shops.

Halo .... as you can see ... he wants it BELOW 100 ...... LOL ....

provided he has a Mac machine first :D

BB: Ya, I read his budget, that's why I listed out iLife's price. For what iLife can do, the $165 is more than well spent.

And yes, provided he has a Mac first ;)

if you use the $20 version bewarned that it does stretches and also drops the resolution down - pictures are a little distorted and much less sharper. Did not want to spend $60 to see if their higher end model could do it better.

Try their demo version first to see for yourself. The current version 2.2 support 16:9 format as well as the standard 4:3 format.

Yes, I know about that easter egg thingie, but you'll need either an additional external HDD and/or PC with DVD writer.

$158 incl gst actually. if shops charge you $165 then don't buy from them.

IIRC it was $165 at Apple@Funan, but then... I might have made a mistake ;) I didn't have to buy tho', iLife came with my PB.

Wow I never expected so much feedback ... thanks everyone.

In summary I have 2 options:
1 - iDVD from Ulead
2 - MemoriesOnTV from CodeJam

Blurbock said "Not possible .....". Did you say that because of the $100 budget limit or for other reasons? I am willing to raise my budget after all ;)

Also, I don't know what a SuperDrive is (needed by iDVD) ... I assume it means a LOT of disk space?

Does anyone know how both products compare ?

Great forum group by the way! :)
