Duno what pics to take... very lost.

Many of you are really encouraging and kind enough to give me suggestions and pull me up.
I would really want to say "Thank you".
Why I initially said that Singapore scenery was mediocre is due to the impression that we do not have too many natural landscapes. Perhaps it is because Singapore is rather small and all the land has been used for urban development? But I believe the new scapes of IRs and such would bring about a new face to our cityscape.
Nevertheless, I will still continue to explore further, polish up my skills, learn to be more confident and eliminate the excuses.
As a newbie, I have still far to go thru.

Don't be demoralise, neither have too high a expectation from yourself. No one can take an excellent shot with just one shot. It's always a continuous effort. Not forgetting that often, those excellent would have went through PP works, perhaps you might want to look into learning some PP works as well.
Like I said, it's a learning process, just keep shooting and trying, then at the same time, look at the photos taken by others and read the comments given, you too can learn from there.
Don't be afraid to post the photo you have taken too. Cause you can learn a lot more from the comments given by others, many CS members here will be kind enough to guide you along.
Like the good old saying, practice make perfect. So, just keep shooting. Lastly, be more open minded about the object/subject that you want to take. What appears to be an ordinary object can also have a stunting effect with the correct lighting and exposure setting, and angle. The only question is whether are you open enough to look and imagine.
Good luck and don't give up.

brudder.......if you have time tmrow morning 0530hrs we go changi ai mai see sunrise??? i can pick you up n after that we go makan nasi lemak n lim kopi.....if tmrow will be an unfruitful trip for you, at least you have a friend that give you a ride for free and chit chat...ok i throw in the nasi lemak n kopi also....how ai mai??....:lovegrin: also i dun give an F about what camera u use as long as it could capture light!!!

maybe you can start by giving yourself a theme to shoot.

There will always be those who believe and insist that there is nothing to see/shoot in Singapore. Too bad for them. And there will always be those who will tell you that you need f2.8 lenses, the top-of-the-range gears, etc. I'll let them continue to buoy the economy. Hehehe.
Well it is true nonetheless that we do not have as many natural landscape compared to other countries. But that does not mean that no good pictures will come out of it. If you are disappointed with your pictures, just post your pictures and receive some critiques, so that you know what has went wrong.
You may not have the "eye" or inspiration that others have. But by sitting at home and thinking that there is nothing to shoot, things will never materialise. Next time you think that way, just bring your eqpt out and take a walk. Bit by bit you'll realise that you probably can take something out of nothing. Even if you had to QC 99 images and you're left with 1, you'll still be happier than sitting at home and not trying

use long exposure...
then think harder...
what camera are u using...hopefully its not as lousy as my D70
Don't blame the camera... good pics all depends on the user. Who says Singapore's scenery cannot make it???
I'm a noob too... I took 50+ shots at an event and they were almost all horrible. Feel quite disheartened also but must push on.... practise makes perfect!
