DSLR-A200K or Cannon EOS 500D

HI all,

I am new to DSLR. I am now looking at DSLR-A200K or Cannon EOS 500D. Can anyone give me advice?

Decide on the lenses you intend to get and it will be clearer for you. In the end, it's the lenses thats going to cost you.

You wouldn't want to change brands when you have more lenses. So what you decide now is kinda long term.

In terms of entry-level and specs, I believe the Canon has more features. Go to dpreview to get more information on them.

if u have the spare cash, get the 500D
if u on budget get the A200..either way both are good camera suited for beginner , except that 500D is a newer model with more advance spec.

price is about $400 diff
if budget get A200
if mid budget then its 500D

500D kit - $1399

Whether the features of 500D are worth the extra $500+, you have to decide it yourself.

you should be comparing the new A380 with the 500D, or at least A330.

Agree with the bros. You're comparing apple with orange.

Personally I would go for the A200 and use the extra cash to get a better lens. Afterall, you would upgrade your body more frequent than your lens.
