ya, i was lookin thru all my pix taken since my sony day 4years back. then saw the difference cos in between there are also pix by canonDidn't take note of that till this post.
From what I observed: Sony uses DSC***, Fujifilm DSCF***, Canon IMG***

DSC is the abbreviation of a Japanese body which standardize digital media stuff... that's all I could remember. So back to original question, that naming convention is used by a few Japanese digicam manufacturer, as some has already mentioned.
