Hi all,

just wanna ask if anyone in CS practiced this method:

* turned off their dry cabinet overnyt and turn it back on in the day (save pub) but the cabinet was never opened, locked
* the next day when turned it back on, still RH is at 40 - 50 range...

would it be any problem on this? my cabinet is at the living room, room temperature constantly....

Hope to know some advise...thanks in advance!

No, nobody do that, dry cabinet already have such function built in.
Anyway, it cost less that $6 per month, it is money that you shouldn't save in term of preventing fungus grow on your gears.

Nope, but the compressor in most modern day refrigerator does cycle automatically depending on the thermostat setting, to automatically defrost the refrigerator every few hours and whenever the overload protection circuit is triggered. Otherwise you'll have a refrigerator filled with food frozen over and a utility bill rocketing through the roof. ;)

I do not think all dry cabinet has that function. Those which has a variable dial and external hygrometer are non intelligent.

dry cabinets drying technology is using peltier effect system ..... there are no moving parts in a peltier system (no compressors ) involved which equals lower running costs and little maintenance
