dropped cf card

learnt today that 300 photos from my relative's wedding were lost cos'
the photographer dropped the CF card.

No compensation was offered.

Did this happen to any of you before, what did you do for the client?

my CF card dropped and crack a bit at the edge..
definately no resale value liao.. but still can be used..
no side effect.. everrything is fine.. photos inside still survive...

Most likely he dropped a microdrive.
CF card unlikely to spoil easily thro' drops but they do get corrupted once the circuit is messed up. (happened to a few Hagiwaras that my friends have)
ALways backup.

CF card are well known for their reliability, so a microdrive is much more likely.
Of course, that fellow might happen to be extremely unlucky.

Anyway, I would at the very least expect the client to have to pay nothing, and some token form of compensation from the photographer.

Wow... The photog should consider himself/herself lucky not to be "sued"... let alone expect any compensation. Unprofessional.

Another good reason to shoot with two cameras throughout the day.
