Received an e-mail from Tiffen this morning, they are sending me a replacement bag but i have to pay for shipping/custom charges.

should i go ahead? because they need my credit card number as well..

"Boonwei, Sorry to take so long to get back to you. I have had our Product Management review this as well as the picture.

I have been authorized to replace the bag; however, we have to ask that you pay shipping and custom charges. If this meets with your approval, I will need address, phone number and a credit card number. Please advise.

It would be better if u could verify the email address and a short phone call will suffice

I would use a credit card that I seldom use, and also inform the bank to lower the credit limit on the card to say maybe $500. When the transaction is completed, I'd terminate the card.

Even if the email is verified to be real, its never a good idea to be emailing your credit card info. Emails can (and are) being intercepted all the time.

i think i will change a card number after the transaction is done.

now feel abit cheapo :p use so many yrs still got free bag LOL

what happen to your domke bag? ke poh a bit.

Why don't you ask them to arrange with Cathay for a replacement? they are after all the official domke distributor.

great idea.

i will try to ask them if that option is fine with them.

sounds like a good idea!

hi kex, did you clearify the "machine wash" problem with them? what was their reply?

like that means what? they label beg can be machine wash. but the fact is it cant. than how? if you wash this newly replaced bag and same thing happen, are they going to replace yet another bag?

i will post any other clarifications i get from them if any.

but i guess hand wash is the safer way..
