What I'd be interested to see is the photo(s) he took...
Yeah, see if it was really worth nearly dying for, got to admit though, it may seem stupid, but that dude is comitted to getting the shot! He must really have a passion for photography!

Or hes just an idiot

Dang! He's got to be a rock climber too or else this photo has been manipulated. I don't think a normal photographer (pro or otherwise) would want to take that kind of a risk. From the photo itself I can certainly see death. He is wearing slippers. At least you would expect him to come prepared and well attired. Hmmm.

passion is one thing, but to risk ones life its totally nuts. even to jump across w proper shoes and empty handed its tough and hell lot of risk. he did it w slippers and teh other hand full w tripod, camera bag. crazy!!

adn from where he is standing to where he jumped to, seriously i don thing you get a lot of difference in e final picture. this is hte craziest series of photo i ever seen

i'm just abt to send an email to my friends to share this astonishing feat. but i realise that it may be doctored.

1. look at the long shadows of the left rock casting on the right rock. look at the shadows of the texture of the rock surface on the left. how come the tripod have no shadows?

http://www.flickr.com/photos/hansvandevorst/216200392/in/set-72157594222213140/

2. from the first picture and its shadow, we can roughly picture the spatial relationship of the two rock (which is least obvious in pic 3), but it seem that the direction of the man's jump on picture 2 seems to be from left to right whereas the right rock is on the right and behind of the left rock. his landing position on the 3rd picture also shows that he landed slightly behind the edge of the right rock which is not consistent with the jump he made on the 2nd pic.

what do y'alls think?

1. Look carefully. The sun is shining on his left, shadows are casting down on his right.

2. If you've read the comments, the shot was taken at 300mm.

Just curious question.
Do you guys think that photo with him standing on top of the rock, from that photo..is he using a cheapo tripod? :p
