does this bracket exist?

any advise if this device exist or where to get it? i own a fz-20 but after adding a wcon-14b the camera becomes heavy infront when mounted on a slik spirit pro tripod. is there such a device where i can mount @ the bottom of the camera to change the original tripod mounting screw from the back of the camera to the middle to balance the weight??

measure the offset i want...cut raw material and machine down to the required shape. tap the hole and tada!

Anyway, just out of curiousity. Has anyone ever made a DIY sliding baseplate before?
