I know that OS2 can control the camera for studio or other shots. My question is does it also control focus? Ie. if I want to perform manual focussing, can I do it thru OS2? Thanks.

Thanks lar. I could not find it on google. Maybe I searched wrongly.

So only for E30 and later, so that means E3 cannot lar! No fun.

Why would you focus using a PC software? How do you want to see what you are focusing on?

I want to have digital control of focus and not focus using the focussing ring. It is hard to focus delicately with the focus ring. If I am not wrong, the image on the LCD is reflected on the PC. I just hope that the 10x mag function can also be transferred to the PC using the USB connection.

Sorry, that's not the way it works.

While it is possible to have both video and camera control on the PC:

...the only way to get both camera control and video on the same computer is to use a special cable that has both USB and video on one cable (for those cameras that don't have a separate video port) is to use the AV/PC-2 cable. For cameras that have a separate video port you don't need that cable but you need both USB and video plugged in at the same time.

The final part of the equation is your computer has to have a video capture/tuner card with video in.
