Hi guys,

Does filter grow fungus?

mine grew fungus :( (a +3 closeup filter)

now i put everythinin dry box :)

Under right condition, all things can grow fungus.

well even our eyes can grow fungus if not careful :bsmilie:

I keep most of my glass related items in dry cabinet. Even the GND filters as well

If it's coated with organic material, yes fungus can grow on the organic material.

One of my filter did have a growth, even it was store in electronic dry cabinate all the time, so dry cabinate are not 100% prove to prevent fungus growth.

My old specs do grow fungus too. I mean in between the specs lenses and frame.

When putting items inside a dry cabi, make sure that the item is NO "lock" up in another enclosure which may trap moisture, thus fungus grow. Make sure the surface need to be protect is exposure to the dry condition created by the cabi.

Best condition for fungus growth will be 20~30 degC, 80~90%RH, dark, still air.
