Normal reaction :). Unless it's a company one, that's what I do to my stuff. And that's why my friend advice has made me think twice.

Nope, my walkaround lens is always on - even when in my bag - for snap-ready moments. What's the point of taking it off? It's like having a gun without the bullets, and when the enemy comes, u'd have to load the bullets - by which time you'd be dead.
 

perpetually leave my 35-70 on my D700...

hardly even change for my 50mm f/1.4.

same for my m6, my 28 cron is always on.
