Do you enjoy receiving "unimportant" emails from friends/colleagues/associates?

Hey Everyone,
Just a fun poll to find out some information for my research paper.

Do you often receive "unimportant" emails (aka junk mail) from your friends/colleagues/associates/photography khakis? "Unimportant" emails such a jokes, funny pictures, video clips etc.

My question(s) for all of you is, do you like receiving such mail from people that you know? Or reckon them as spam even if they are funny?

If someone that you know of continues to send you such emails, would you email back to that person and tell the him/her to stop and remove you from "mailing list"?

Would love to hear any comments and feedback from all of you.

It depends. Once in a long while is ok. But not everytime... especially that of long debunked urban legends like someone died with some brain infection eating raw sashimi and silly 'warnings' of what to eat, what not to eat.

Those dun even qualify as 'spam' to me. They are counted as 'I wanna show u that my intelligence is that of a rock' email.

All my friends will get hell from me. Does notmatter if you have ever saved my life or give me sex! heh. It is risky practice and inconsiderate and myself never practice this. Risky because as we all know these days not all PC users are PC savvy ( even if 90%o of them say they are) They are the one who usually compromise your email address when they use "CC" and list out everyone's email in it. Spammers love getting hold of emails like this, it save them the trouble of authenticating emails that are real or fake to use for spamming you. Not many know they should use "BCC" which will hide all email addresses you forward junk stuff they feel you "really" got to read. Worst case, sent you files that could be a virus or a link that sent you to a site that has spyware or some other hack stuff that will infect you the moment you vist the site. And even if nothing that bad happens, there are those who use their home or office PC with a broadband connection to send you super huge files. So for those like me who work in a company that only have 56K dial-up, you are jammed up waiting for their 3(or bigger) megabyte file down load to your outlook express! They also seem to forget that most people with "PAID" email account tend to be small in size. Tell them to send it to your GMAIL, YAHOO or HOTMAIL but some how they rather sent to my singnet or office email. This is one of the reason why after some time your new private paid email starts getting more and moe spam emails.

I will alway give them hell...and made some enemies in the process as some of their friends also include your email to send more stupid stuff that usually I have already seen or am not interested at all. It is a waste of bandwidth. I alway asked my friends first if I saw something really nice and want to share as I think they would like it..if they want it then I will sent to them....or send the link ( after I check the link is not "loaded" with a spy or spam site). just like letter writing, there actually are code of proper conduct with sending emails.

And there are some who are dead set on doing it even after you tell them not too. (I would stop calling them friend by that stage.) I will banned them with my emailing program. Set up my email program to delete their emails at the server end.

I don't mind if the jokes they sent are good, It will help me in releasing some stress from work. Also by receiving e-mails from time them time to time. At least I know their e-mail account is still up to date.
But I do preferred they put the addressee in BCC list.

This are the stupiest bunch I get once in a while and are from idiotics who knows better but sents it just in case "they" do come true. Talk about weak minded retards.... they get the biggest bitching from me.

Ya this type I don't like but sometime the contents is good for reading, just like those "chicken soup for a soul" thingy. So if I do forward it, I normally remove such texts.

Okay, so no-no for those romantic-or-chicken-soup-for-the-soul emails, yah? But what about graphics or pictures? Porn/Sexy Models/Lingerie Models aside, do you guys ever received photos like accidents, i.e., gross-to-the-max like brains spilling out, decapitated bodies, limbs here & there etc.

How do you feel when you receive such emails?

ah...no need lah..no one gross me out more then myself. I head for all those site regularly to desensitised my mind about the violence this world is still very capable of inflicting on another human being. heheheh.....

Usually it would be my friends that would ask me for those stuff though I am very stingy at sharing such stuff espcially sick humours. :devil:

But I would add that anyone who want to "share" stuff like this or even those porn stuff in the office...becareful..although ISP might also have "packet sniffers" to peep at what data is moving through your internet connection it is more likely your company's IT dept will be the one who will know what stuff is moving through your email.
