hi,

im new here.
i have Canon 450D come with EF 18-55mm IS & 75-300mm Non IS
im planning to get Tamron 18-270mm
so do i need sell my 18-55mm IS & 75-300mm Non IS ?
can urs give me opinion....

thanks

you like the convenience of the 18-270?
I've not heard many rave reviews about the image quality or sharpness from this lens.

If you like convenience, then of course 18-55 + 75-300 is pretty redundant once you get the 18-270. I would sell them in this case.

But if it were my choice, i'd stick to the present combo.

what kind of photos do you like to take anyway?

Yes, i like convenience for Tamron 18-270.
any other good suggestion for the image quality & sharpness?
i like to take portrait & landscape

Hmm For this case... Some people think that Tamron cover the range of 18-270!

So why do I still need a 18-55 or a 75-300?

Hmm It is convenience and you don't have to keep changing lens...

Well the sharpness or the speed might not be that good as 75-300 or 18-55.

How about efs 18-200mm? It has much better IQ than 18-270mm

how about Sigma 18-250 & Tamron 18-250?
is it good?

sell off ur 75-300 and keep the 18-55mm, it is still gd for normal shooting...

I got the 18-250...it is light n gd for travelling...

of course, if i got the budget, i would definitely go for 18-270..

For portraits, you should look into a prime lens.

For landscape, your 18-55 will be better. Less compromises as there is less of a telefocal range.

For portrait, I would suggest you get prime lens. 50mm f/1.8 II is a good one to start off with. You can probably keep your 18-55 for landscape and sell off your 75-300. Alternatively you might want to sell off both your lens and get a 17-55 f/2.8. ;)

why the sad face?
Obviously, the major manufacturers have all got some sort of a 18-2xx lens in their line-up, which means this is a popular class of lens to own.
It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but to each his own, I say. Whatever floats your boat.
I personally would not get an 18-200 lens for my own reasons, but that's my choice.

I agree that the IQ/sharpness of Tamron 18-270mm may lose to the IQ/sharpness of the Canon 18-55mm and 75-300mm lens.

The 75-300 is actually a decently sharp lens, I bet sharper than 18-270 at that range. So if i were u I would keep to status quo as 18-270 while convenient has no so gd IQ.
