The above photos shows what i am getting from the cam whenever i tried to shoot direct into or near to a light source. It happens whenever i capture the sun or street lightings. Is my cam going or do i need filters or a lens hood?

Need some enlightenment.

up for u...
i also want to know because mine has a little blue one like yours
but for your info, i put polariser and uv filter.
Yet to try without filter

Nothing to cameras lah. This will always happen when the camera is pointed at or near the light source - it'll be worse if you add on filters. The thing to do is not to point at the light source & use lens hood.
