I did something like that for my S5IS with plastic but find if troublesome when i need to change or take out the battery.

Anyone DIY a grip with battery before so that i can leave the grip on.

tht is wat i really call a block of wood :bsmilie:

A 'block' maybe but i find it useful coz i have a big hand.

well.. to me, i dont see a point..
1st of all - It is quite unpleasant to look at.
2nd of all - cant store extra battery
3rd and most important of all, no vertical release button..
not forgetting the time and hassle to create it..
i would just get the battery grip even if its worth 200 over dollars,
save time, save energy, more satisfied.
money well spent !

just my 2cents worrth..

why would you want to put such an ugly thing on your camera?

it serves no positive purpose frankly, not even to balance out your camera.

and if you want to look pro with a bigger camera, well, then putting a block of wood so ley chey.

Maybe try to airbrush it black first??? So its not so obvious its a block of wood.
Nice imagination you have there....
But i would rather sell of the camera and get maybe a 2nd hand fuji s3 which has a grip built into the body....

may be people with big palm can appreciate this, but than hor, people buy compact digital camera is for its compactness, now add a big block is like:sweat::sweat:
