hi,

pls help a newbie over here.. i began to take up photography as a hobby oni late last year (dec '02) and have found that i really need a lot of practice to improve in my photo-taking skills.. (as can be seen from the comments to my posted photos.. ;p )

so here's my question, for me to improve, do i continue to take all sorts of different genres of photos or juz concentrate on a single type (eg macros)?

please to help me along and thanks in advance.. :embrass:

go around school and shoot. no need to go special place like Esplanade. there's lots of things to shoot in school if you look carefully.

I feel that if u are a new hobbyist to photography, like i was 8 months ago, you should try to take all sorts of shots.
That was what i did and 8 months down the road, i begin to like nature and macros, and voila, tts what i love.

So...take more shots and evaluate what type of shots you like.
Ultimately, i feel that most photogs are more all-rounded. If you see a peculiar insect, you would want to take it. It doesnt matter if you are a specialist in say, sports photog. You just want that moment rite? Of course, wanting to do that will burn a big hole in the pocket.

Specialisation is one thing, but wanting to capture a nice moment is another thing. So..take out your cam, go out shoot and think what you like. Remember i am also a newbie to photography just recently!

Cheers
Regards
