MATTHEW G. JOHNSON

Matthew is a fine arts photographer based in Singapore who travels throughout Asia. Born in England, and raised on a diet of Ilford FP4 and Gallerie FB, he has subsequently been reborn into the digital realm.

At the core of his images, is the fascination with people and how they interact with their environment, and the conviction that the act of observation is an active process which drives the outcomes of the world we inhabit. Most recently he has been collaborating with a number of Asian dance companies and orchestras to create a breadth of unique images at a tangent to the art forms from which they derive.

He has worked with local dance companies T.H.E Dance Company and Arts Fission, as well as local music groups The Singapore Philharmonic Orchestra and Singapore Vocal Ensemble. He had his first solo exhibition at the NUS Arts Festival in March 2012 and has been widely published in journals including the International Herald Tribune, Financial Times and Straits Times with feature articles in both Lianhe Zaobao and Asian Geo.

There is a Community Sharing Room, where you can catch "Imprint" by Christopher Chien.
Come share in our hopes and aspirations for Singapore, and leave your own imprint on his interactive blackboard.
