Hi guys... i'm not very familiar with Singapore....so...

are there any good dim sum places in the Chinatown Area? Tanjong Pagar, Maxwell, Ann Siang Hill can also be considered.

must have:

good ambience
nice decor
private rooms (not a must but preferably)

Thanks!

*randomers... no rubbish here! ;(

Whatever you do,

DON'T go to YumCha in Chinatown, unless you want to be scolded by your lunch-kakis.

Hi ricohflex, thx for visiting my blog.

Anyway, a recent visit found that yixinyuan had raised their price quite a bit, but still being one of the more affordable options in the area. If you are looking for ambience and price is less a concern, you can consider Pavilion Restaurant at Craig Road. It's just 5 min from Tanjong Pagar MRT.

You can view their menu here.

i second red star (hong xing)

ate there once. but heard it can get really busy at peak times.

amazed that some of the waitresses pushing the trolley speak only cantonese and not even mandarin
