Dilemma.. sony f505 or canon powershot s1?

as above.. got a chance to buy a sony f505 at below 300 but i am more interested in the s1 because it is of newer technology and looks nicer.. which 1 should i get? which 1 is more value for money?

I owned the F505V before....

Pros:
Extremely sharp lens
Large bright and clear LCD display
Great performer under low light

Cons:
Battery life stinks
Poor power adapter design
No viewfinder

The F505 series design looks much better than the canon definitely. At $300, its a steal. Just remember to check the battery life (see if it still hold charges)

Although I'm a sony user, i'lll recommend you get the S1. Newer technology, faster focusing and better results.. The 505 is also only 2MP compared to the S1 which is 3MP.

i am a newbie.. so it is recommended tt i try out the f505 first b4 proceeding to s1? cos the price diff is quite big..
image quality wise.. f505 or s1 better?
