Digital vs Digital SLR

The digital SLR normally has interchangeable lenses, a body based on a film SLR (or built similarly to a film SLR), advanced metering modes, high resolution, large sized CCD, etc. And of coz, a lot more expensive.

And don't forget the wider ISO range available for Digital SLR. And these are usually faster and has great noise reducing ability.

If given a choice between a digital cam of a very compact size and a digital SLR that's kind of bulky at almost the same price, what would be your choice?

It depends on what your needs are. If you want a carryaround camera, then the compact one will be ideal. If you are more serious about photography and want all the controls and creativity options available, the ability to do large prints, etc, then get the digital SLR. It offers you almost endless possibilities. It's also good to have both if you can afford.

one thing to note oso is that if you do own an SLR kit that CAN share the lens with the Digital counterpart, then the choice is a D SLR lor.

But the best is to get both like what CK have said!

Is there a Digital SLR that's the same price as a Compact Digicam??? Not that I know of...

the cheapest DSLR would be the olympus E series (around $2700)

the next step up would be the D30 and the S1 Pro (around $4K)

ps. My E-10 is up for sale

size is not the issue , it is the price

Compact DC can cost 3 to 4 digit and D SLR can cost 4 to 5 digit

Get an EOS 300/EOS 66/EOS 88/EOS 888/Nikon F55/65, then get a lab or a friend to scan your film.
