Digital printing, advice and recommendations needed.

ok i have some digital images that i need to print out..

an example is this:

of course this picture is a scaled down pic, and in my PC i have another version that is 1174 x 708 @ 300dpi; 9.94cm x 5.99cm.

i want them to print out to around 18cm x 10cm.

so technically speaking, if the photo lab were to enlarge the size, will it cause obvious quality drop on the pictures?

and for such size, how many "R" should i print?

and how much does colorlab charge for that particular "R" size?

The resolution of the pic is not very high (measured by 1174x708, rather than the "300dpi" which make sense only when you print small). Your pic will only be ~180DPI when you print 4R (4 inches by 6 inches, calculate yourself for the "cm equivalent"). You could try out Photo friends which charges 40 cents and no handling charge for each 4R.

width is 7 x 4 inch...

should i go for 5R and above?

and how much is it?

and if i convert it to 18cm x 10cm, it will be 2126x1282 pixels @ 300dpi.. should i leave it this way for the photo lab?

OR

should i after converting the print size to 18cm x 10cm, i downgrade the DPI to 180? which will then work out to 1276 x 769 pixel..

which one is better?

at photo labs, I think you could only print standard sizes right? 5R os 5 inches by 7 inches.

It does not make a difference if the initial pic (1174 x 708 ) is the same. Whatever size you increase it to, be it 20000 x 12000 or 2126x1282, you'll get prints that are similar in quality to 1174x708 because any derived images contain the same amount of information. You can't create actual information by just resizing.
