I haven tried the B&W filters but does anyone know the differences between a shot done by B&W on the cam,B&W on PS and those shot using a filter?
Is the difference the contrast?

UPS!!!!!

Please tell me the differences.

No bro.
What i meant was is there any difference in the pic if i shoot it in colour and then B&W in PS,shoot using B&W settings on cam and fitting a B&W filter.

Are there any diff?:)

it only works on black and white captures

if you put a red filter and shoot in colour
the effect will be roughly the same as putting the red filter in front of your eyes
everything will become red

has been discussed plenty of times in this forum... do a search... :)

yes.. the emphasis is different. usually in cam B&W can be (in most cases) replicated in post processing from coloured photos. However, a filtered B&W is quite different as the incoming light is already flitered giving emphasis to different colours to stand out in the B&W processing. This again.. can be (to a certain degree) achieved with PP software.
