difference between CPL and wide band CPL

hi, just wanna ask the experts here... is there any difference between a normal CPL and a WIDE BAND CPL? please educate me... thanks!:dunno:

I did some googling and the wideband polarizer is only used in fiber networking and light instruments where a cleaner range of spectrum is required for signal transmission.

On camera filters, there is no product application found (except Kenko labeled it) but I believe it is just marketing purpose.
