Difference between CF Type 1 & 2 card

Hi...thot someone could shed some light on this questions:

1. Is there any difference between the Compact Flash Type I & II cards? In term of :

- Read / write speed?
- Aesthestic / size or appearance?
- what formatting required eg FAT 32 or FAT16?

I do know that currently,.CF II are typically the IBM Microdrive. But do they sell normal CF type 2 card in the mkt?

So far type II is only Microdrive, size abit think compare to type I.
Can format Fat16 or FAT32 depend on your cam....
