HI

I'm new to Panasonic and I'm curious... What's the major diff about the LX2 and T3? From reading the reviews, seems like whatever the LX2 can offer, the T3 has (in fact zoom is fantastic at 28-280mm) except for lower megapix.

Both can do true 16:9 pano format right?

What r the main pros and cons of the 2 cams?

Thanx!

both are the same only LCD diff

tz3 you mean? i think lx2 has aperture/shutter/manual modes. tz3 is simply point and shoot, cannot choose between different modes.

Sensor size makes all the difference in picture quality.

LX-2 sensor size - 1/1.65 "
TZ-3 sensor size - 1/2.35 "

so LX-2 has a much bigger sensor. As a matter of fact LX-2 is one of those who has the biggest sensor in the compact and prosumer market. Just check out other brands only A FEW come close.

LX-2 Sensor photo detectors - 10.4 million
TZ-3 Sensor photo detectors - 8.5 million

Getting a clearer picture now.

LX2 also has higher speed f/2.8 aperture, TZ-3 has a aperture spped of f/3.3

movie mode LX2 takes better smoother pictures.

LX-2 has ability to take RAW, TZ-3 nill.

The rest another bro in this forum has already stated, is about the manual overide

Hi,

I am a newbie, yet planning to get a new digital camera.

I am looking at Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2. May I know is it a good cam?

Ya, with LX2 you can control the aperture/shutter/ISO/focus: you can only select scene modes on the TZ3 to make indirect pseudo-adjustments. TZ3 also doesn't save RAW files: LX2 does.
