Did the work of us human beings screw up the whole weather system on our fair planet?

It's already April. It's supposed to be time for people to post and complain how horribly hot the weather is. But this time round, we are facing higher than average rain, aka almost every other day! I was looking forward to having a good month of shoots but with this kinda weather, how to shoot?:dunno:

Is our planet finally screwed upside down from our actions? Spring came only recently in the northeast side of America, and some parts of America are still pretty cold...:bheart:

do u know last week, there was snow in USA?

Who to blame? everyone! every country! every nation! except me.

Hrm? Yeah, it does seem to be raining a lot more erratically than before.

But is it usual or did we just forget what last year was like? =D

frankly i like the rainy weather this few days.... because for the past few weeks, it has been so freaking HOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i wear singlet and shorts also can sweat when outside......wat the heck man... the weather sux.

well it is raining again here in jurong. :(

my first long weekend in 4 months and I am trapped at home. :(

can someone cheer me up? :)

Actually April is usually both hot and rainy if I recall correctly. I remember last April was also quite rainy and I got caught out many times while shooting insects in the middle of nowhere!

The thing is it wasn't supposed to be like this. 2-3 years ago it was hot and humid. Then it started to become this way, raining heavily and frequently when it wasn't supposed to be...:thumbsd:

Y E S !
The most obvious culprit is the clearance of forests for human occupation as well as for agriculture for human beings.
Then the rape of mother nature via oil, resources, minerals, etc.... in the name of advancement for human kinds.
Ultimately it is either nature or human who will destroy Planet Earth!

See how you like rain when you travelled from the East to Bukit Batok for one hour, and shoot for 30 minutes and it POURS and POURS and POURS..

Then when you give up because your bag is thoroughly soaked and your camera might give up the ghost with a few more splashes, and get on the MRT home..

The rain stops at Jurong East interchange! :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

Well, one of the latest Newsweek issues focused on the global warming problem.

There was this article that was quite thought-provoking, and it said that temperatures have always been rising. Whether it was in 1900 or now. And in fact, the first half of the 20th century increased more in temperature than the second half!

Well, whatever it is, temperature increase is not good for us, Singapore's as hot as it is already. Later more and more bush-fires in the less developed areas, would be really irritating. Imagine if you go and to shoot and end up photographing bush fires.. =D

But on a global scale, it is actually good, since cold is a much worse killer than heat.

Living things (other than those conditioned over thousands of years and have thick furs) have a high chance of living in a warm place rather than a cold place... I believe mother nature will get really pissed off one day and decide to do us in with a huge catastrophe involved shifting plates or a bit of intervention from space...

I would be pissed if people keep making my home dirty...

Cheer up!

Maybe Steve Jobs will really produce this, and make it heatproof!

On a global scale, coldness and heat waves are not a threat to human race.
Human beings have the ability to adapt to such temperature.

On the other hand, it’s the unpredictable weather phenomenons that are threatening living beings. Examples are Flash floods, tornadoes, hurricane, cyclone, wildfires, winter storms…..

These weather disasters have become more ferocious than before in terms of intensity and frequency.
And the root cause for all these calamities is due to the change in climate temperature.
So on global scale or any other scales, it is no good be it cold or hot.

But I like the erratic weather, not predictable. Nobody cares what happens to earth becos by then those who are chasing to make those big bucks wont be here anymore, nobody bothers about long term effects, all want to make big money now.

...Well it depends on whether you wish to believe what you read... In general, almost every article I see suggests that cold is a much worse problem than heat. To all aspects of life.

The perceived imminent heat problems are generally limited to tropical diseases (malaria, etc) where the link is stronger to wealth and public health instead of location, etc.

This is the cause of global warming. Too much water have evaporated, and thus causing an excessive amount of water up there. Did anyone read one of the TIME issues recently? The columnist, Fareed Zakaria said that out of 12 of the hottest years, 11 of them were from 1995 onwards. This makes me sad. Do you even think that Mother Earth can hold on another 100 more years at this rate? I don't think so. To maintain greenhouse gases and CO2 at it current levels without going up, men have to cut down industrialisation usage by 60%. This certainly is impossible. No nation would be willing to cut down on their industrialisation since it boosts their economy. Men are this selfish.

Men will not amend their ways unless they are struck with a calamity. Take smoking as a simple illustrialisation. No amount of "Qutting is hard, Not quitting is harder" posters will stop these smokers from quiting till they get lung cancer.I, as a doctor, have tried to stop my patients from smoking, but to no avail. Until one fine day, when they come to me complaining they have this and that, and find out that it is due to lung caner, they'll stop smoking, by hook or by crook. Even if i refer them to a specialist, it'll already be too late. The cancer is already in their terminal stage.

Another reason is everyone is too used to their creature comforts that they are selfish and do not care about the environment. Why are people not willing to cut down on industrialisation? Simply beacuse it'll bring in revenue for the country. Why are people buying Ferraris and Lamborghinis? Beacuse these objects of materialism will add to their pride, boosting their ego and upgrade their social status. Driving a hybrid car like a toyota prius doesn't seem 'cool'.

清明时节雨分分, so it's very normal to have rain around this period...two three mths later you will see....heat and haze will be back again:sweat:

I think the weather system is trying to fix itself...
