Online design resource, the Design Observer Group, recently announced the winners of their annual 50 Books/50 Covers competition. The contest—held in conjunction with AIGA and Designers & Books—is a celebration of the art of book design. The competition was open to all books published in 2014 and encompassed book formats as diverse as trade paperbacks, special editions, specialty printing methods, and digital-only publications. Both Design Observer and AIGA have expressed the desire to expand the reach of the exhibit, but note the expense involved in such an undertaking.
